Museums
Barcelona is home to some excellent museums which are perfect to visit on a rainy day. The Picasso Museum, for example, is a must-see attraction for art lovers. Cooking Classes
Why not consider a cooking class! They are a great way to spend a rainy day in Barcelona! You can learn how to make authentic Spanish dishes and possibly with a glass of vino as well! Shop until you drop!
Barcelona is a shopper's paradise! Home to a wide variety of shops and boutiques! From high-end designer clothes to hand made souvenirs, you'll find it all in Barcelona. Some of the best places to shop in Barcelona include the famous ‘Passeig de Gracia’ (which is also home Gaudi’s incredible Casa Batlló - which is another great option to do on a rain day!). The Gothic Quarter, and the Born district, along of course with Barcelona’s famous Avinguda Diagonal! All filled with shops, cafes, and restaurants, so you can easily spend an entire day exploring and dashing in and out of the rain (part of the fun!).
Barcelona Aquarium
Barcelona Aquarium is a great option and will entertain all year round not just on rainy days. Its also one of our best sellers! Home to over 11,000 animals from 450 different species including sharks, penguins, sea turtles and an awful lot of fish, of course! Located in the Port Vell area of Barcelona, which is also a great area to explore even when it's raining outside!
The Gothic Quarter
The Gothic Quarter is one of Barcelona's most historic neighbourhoods and it's a great place to explore on a rainy day. Filled with narrow streets, Gothic architecture, and charming cafes. You can easily spend a few hours wandering through the streets and discovering hidden gems. Some of the must-see attractions in the Gothic Quarter include the Cathedral of Barcelona, the Plaça del Rei, and the Picasso Museum. That’s the second time we’ve mentioned the Picasso Museum – it must be a good place to visit!
Visit a Spa
Barcelona is home to some great Spa’s and a rainy day is the perfect excuse to visit one and pamper yourself! The Aire Ancient Baths is located in a renovated warehouse and features hot and cold baths, massages, and aromatherapy treatments. Another Spa option in Barcelona is the Mayan Spa, with several located in Barcelona.
The Gran Teatre del Liceu (Opera House)
The Gran Teatre del Liceu is one of the most iconic buildings in Barcelona and a great place to visit on a rainy day. Located in the heart of Barcelona, the theatre has been hosting performances for over 150 years, having opened in 1847! Barcelona’s Historical Buildings
Take the opportunity to visit one of Barcelona’s historical building’s. Home to multiple of Antoni Gaudi’s incredible properties, amongst other options, there is plenty to choose from. Sagrada Familia being probably one of the most famous landmarks in Barcelona, if not Spain, is Gaudi’s unfinished masterpiece and a great place to visit to stay out of the rain. Learn its history and take in its breath-taking interior. Around 20,000,000 people visit Barcelona each year just to see the Sagrada Familia from the outside alone, with around 7,000,000 paying to see the inside. Its one of Barcelona’s biggest tourist attractions. Gaudi’s Casa Batlló is another option. Another Gaudi property to enjoy on a rainy day is Casa Vicens, with its bright colours helping to improve your mood on a rainy day!
